Ahmad Khan Navid, the Voice of Radio Ghor reporter, was shot dead by Afghanistan security forces during the protest of massive people against the local government in the Ghor province.
According to eyewitnesses: After several days of quarantine situation in Ghor province, yesterday a massive people protest in front of the governor’s office and called for addressing their economic problems and transparency in budget consumption by the government in the fight against coronavirus.
In the continuation of the demonstration, security forces fired on the people on the orders of the governor of Ghor province, and killing four people, including Ahmad Khan Navid, the voice of Ghor radio reporter.
But the local government of Ghor province did not confirm this situation and said, that among the protesters were irresponsible gunmen who caused the incident.
The Afghanistan National Journalists Union (ANJU) of has offered its condolences to the family of Ahmad Khan Navid and to the all Afghanistan Media families. At the same time, it calls on the responsible institutions to take this issue seriously and to deal with the perpetrators of this human crime legally.
